On an iPhone with Face ID
If you have an iPhone with a Face ID, you can check battery percentage by following one of the three below methods.
Method 1: From Control Centre
You can check the battery percentage on your iPhone from Control Centre. To do so, open Control Centre on your iPhone. Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen. Look for the battery icon in the top right corner in the Control Centre. The battery percentage will appear on the left of the battery icon.
Method 2: Use Siri
Siri is the default voice assistant on iPhones. You can ask Siri to check the battery percentage on your iPhone. Press and hold the Side Button on your iPhone to activate Siri. If you set up the Hey Siri command, say “Hey Siri” to activate it. When Siri is activated and listening, ask, “What is my battery percentage“. Siri will show you the battery percentage on the screen.
Method 3: Check Battery Percentage While Charging

The steps to check battery percentage on an iPhone with a home button is relatively easy. You can also see the battery percentage permanently in the status bar, unlike iPhones with Face ID. Here is how to enable Battery Percentage on iPhone with a home button. Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone with a home button. Step 2: In the Settings app, scroll down to Battery and select it. Step 3: Under Battery, you will find the Battery Percentage option. Turn on the toggle next to it. Once done remaining battery percentage will start appearing in the status bar on the left of the battery icon.
Add a Batteries Widget to Home Screen (iOS 14, 15)
With iOS 14, Apple introduced Widgets for the very first time. The company brought widgets for all the prebuilt apps. Among these Widgets, there is a Widget named Batteries which we can use to check the battery percentage of our iPhone. Not just iPhone, it also shows the battery percentage of accessories connected to our iPhone, i.e. Apple Watch and AirPods. Follow the below steps to add a batteries widget to the home screen on iPhone running iOS 14 or later. Step 1: Enter Jiggle Mode on your iPhone. To enter Jiggle Mode, press and hold an app icon or a blank space on your home screen until apps and widgets start jiggling. Alternatively, you can press and hold an app icon and then tap on Edit Home Screen. Step 2: In Jiggle Mode, tap on the + icon in the upper left corner of the screen. It will open the Widget menu on the screen. Step 3: In the Search, Widgets box on top, type Batteries and select it. You can also scroll down on the Widgets menu and tap on Batteries.
