Set Up Family Accounts for Children/Adults
If you want to set up a new family account for children or adults on your PlayStation 5 console, here’s what you need to do.
Go to Settings -> Family and Parental Controls.
Go to ‘Family Management’
Sign in with the PS App on your smartphone, or by entering your password on the PlayStation.
Scan the QR code shown on your PS5 connected display with your smartphone and set up the account for a child or an adult.
You will need to create a PlayStation Network account for your kid to complete this process. If you have way too many PSN accounts by the way, you can easily delete PSN accounts as well. On the other hand, if you’re trying to add an adult to your family, you will need to sign in with their PSN account.
How to Manage Child Accounts
If you have already added an account for your kid, you don’t need to go through the entire Family account set up. You can set up parental controls and restrictions on the account easily. Here’s how.
Go to Settings -> Family and Parental Controls.
Under ‘Applicable Users on This PS5’ you will see your kid’s account. Select it.
Here, you can set the age restriction for PS5 and PS4 games as well as web browsing, PSVR, etc.
