A message sent prompt appears in the bottom left corner of the screen right after sending an email. If you look closely at that prompt, it also includes an Undo option. Tapping on Undo recalls the sent email. The sent email gets returned to the draft, where you can edit or discard it.
Increase Send Cancellation Period
The feature to Undo email in Gmail is remarkable, but the default cancellation period is only 5 seconds. Thankfully, Google has added an option to extend the send cancellation period to 30 seconds. When a user increases the cancellation period, what Google does is instead of delivering the mail to the recipient right away. It waits an additional 30 seconds if the user wants to recall the email. Step 1: Go to Gmail on any web browser on your computer. If you are log in with your Google account, you will directly land in your Gmail inbox. If you are not logged in, enter your credentials to get log in first. Step 2: Once you are in the Inbox, tap on the Gear icon in the top right corner. Step 3: Under Quick Settings, tap on See all settings. Step 4: You will land on the General tab. In the same tab, look for Undo Send option. There will be a Send Cancellation Period next to Undo Send. By default, it will be 5 seconds. Step 5: Tap on the down arrow icon to change the Send cancellation period.
