Every Discord user has access to enable the Discord Developer Mode. Anyone can log into their Discord account from any platform and enable the Developer mode in a matter of a few clicks. Below are the steps to enable Discord Developer mode on every platform.
Enable Discord Developer Mode on Desktop App and Web
If you have used the Discord Desktop app on Windows or macOS, you might be aware that it shares the same user interface. The Desktop Web Client also features a similar design to the Desktop app. It means the steps will remain the same on the Desktop app and Web app. Follow these steps to enable the Developer Mode on Discord Desktop App and Web. Step 1: Open the Desktop app of Discord on your Windows or Mac Computer. You can open Discord in your favorite web browser. Step 2: Tap on the Gear (User Settings) icon. It will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. Step 3: Tapping on the Gear icon will take you to the Discord User Settings page. Under User Settings, tap on the Advanced option from the left sidebar. The Advanced option will be available in the App Settings section. Step 4: On the Advanced Settings page, you will find the Developer Mode. Turn on the toggle next to it to enable Developer Mode on your Windows, Mac computer, or web browser. Step 5: Once you enable the Developer mode, you will get a new Application Test Mode option. If you want to enable a test for the Discord Application at which you are working, turn on the Toggle to enable Application Test Mode. To turn on the Application Test mode, you will have to enter your Discord Application ID and URL origin type. After enabling the Discord Developer Mode, you will have access to IDs of Servers, Server Members, Channels, and Messages. To Copy the ID of a Server right, click on the server name. In the Context Menu, you will get a new Copy ID option; tap on it to copy the unique ID of the server. Similarly, you can right-click on a Server Member name, Channel Name, Direct Contacts, Sent Message, and the same Copy ID option will appear in the context menu. Enable Discord Developer Mode on Smartphone (Android, iOS)
Earlier, the option to enable Developer Mode was only available on the Desktop and Web app. But now, it is also available in the Discord mobile app on both Android and iOS. The steps to enable Discord Developer Mode differ slightly on Android and iOS smartphones. Here is how you can turn on Discord Developer mode on your Android or iOS smartphone.
On Android
If you use Discord on an Android smartphone, below are the steps you can use to turn on Developer Mode on Discord. Step 1: Open the Discord application on your Android smartphone. Step 2: In the Discord app, tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner of the screen. It will take you to the User Settings page. Step 3: Under User Settings, scroll down to App Settings, and you will get a Behavior option, tap on it. Step 4: On the Behavior User Settings page, you will see the Developer Mode under Chat Behavior. Turn on the toggle next to Developer Mode to enable it. On iOS
Are you using Discord on an iPhone? The steps to enable Developer Mode will differ a little bit from Android. But you don’t have to worry as you can follow the step-by-step process mentioned below. Step 1: Open the Discord app on your iPhone. Step 2: In the Discord app, tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner of the screen. Step 3: Scroll down to App Settings and tap on the Appearance option. Step 4: Under Appearance, look for Developer Mode in the Advanced section. Turn the Switch on next to the Developer mode to enable it. The above steps enable the Developer Mode on the Discord iOS app. The steps are slightly different than Android. You have to tap on Appearance under App settings instead of Behavior. After enabling the Discord Developer Mode on your Android or iOS smartphone, you will get the Copy ID option in the context menu. Tap on a Server Name and select the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner. It will open the context menu from the menu options; tap on Copy ID to get the server’s ID. To get the ID of a channel, server member, or messages, press and hold to open the context menu, and from there, you can tap on Copy ID.
