Gmail has a powerful blocking option to block an email address. Once you block an email address, if the sender sends an email, it directly goes into the Spam folder. Follow the steps provided below to block an email address in Gmail.

How to Block Email Address in Gmail

Step 1: Go to Gmail on your computer. If you are log in with your Google account, you will land in your Gmail’s inbox. If not, enter your credentials to get logged in first. Step 2: Once you are in the Gmail inbox, open an email sent by the email address you want to block. Step 3: After opening the email, tap on the three-dot (More) icon in the top right corner. Step 4: Tap on Block “Name” or Block “Email Address” option. Step 5: A confirmation prompt will appear on the screen saying, “Block this email address.” Tap on the Block button to give the confirmation. That’s it. This is how you can block an email address on Gmail. Once you have blocked an email address, future emails from that email address will automatically be marked as spam.

Unblock an Email Address on Gmail

If you have blocked an email address in Gmail and now want to unblock it, you also do it. Step 1: Go to Gmail on your computer. Enter your credential to get logged in. Step 2: In your Gmail box, open an email sent by the email address you want to unblock. Step 3: You will see a banner on top of the email when you open the email. The banner will have an Unblock sender button. Tap on it to unblock the email address. Once you have unblocked an email address, future emails from that email will start appearing in your inbox instead of going to the Spam folder. Alternatively, you can also manually unblock an email address. Step 1: Go to Gmail and tap on the settings icon in the top right corner. Step 2: Tap on the See all settings option. Step 3: By default, you will land on the General tab head over to the Filters and blocked addresses tab. Step 4: Now, you will see all the blocked email addresses. Select the email address you want to unblock and tap on unblock on the far right side or the unblock selected addresses button.

How to Unsubscribe from Mass Emails

Many companies use emails as a marketing tool. We all tend to open emails and utilize them to promote products and services. If you are receiving mass emails from an email address, you can easily unsubscribe from mass emails. Follow the below steps to unsubscribe from promotional bulk emails. Step 1: Go to Gmail on any browser on your computer. Enter your credentials to log in to your account. Step 2: Once you are logged in, open the mass email you want to unsubscribe. Step 1: Go to Gmail and enter your credentials to get logged in to your account. Step 2: Open the email you want to report as spam. Step 3: After opening the email, tap on the three-dot (More) icon in the top right corner. Step 4: Look for a Report spam option and tap on it. Once done, the email address of that will email address will be marked as spam. The Gmail team will analyze your report and take action on the email address if required.

Report Suspicious Emails

Many times we receive suspicious emails in our inbox. The sole purpose of these emails is to download malicious software on your PC, steal our credit card information, or dupe in any other form. Google has given us the option to report suspicious emails. Follow the below report suspicious emails in Gmail. Step 1: Go to your Gmail inbox. Step 2: Open an email that you think is suspicious. Step 3: Tap on the three-dot (More) icon in the top right corner. Step 4: From the available options, tap on Report phishing. Tap on it to give your final confirmation. When you report an email, it will be directly sent to Gmail’s Abuse team.
